Greetings, Dartmouthians!
I hope you’re doing well – things have been hopping over here at The Dart Gallery.
First and foremost, thank you for your continued support. It was a huge thrill to have been voted Best Gallery Gold in this year’s Reader’s Choice awards for the second year in a row. Wow! We’re nothing without our incredible artists and wonderful community, and are immensely grateful. Thank you.
On Nov 19, we had a brand new show open called ‘Le Jardin Magique’ by Estelle Thomson. With over 100 pieces, this show features watercolour and acrylic works of flowers, butterflies, and faeries. Estelle was recently voted Best Visual Artist in The Coast’s Reader’s Choice awards AND Best Yoga Teacher! About this show she says,
“We all have a hidden, secret, magic garden inside of us. It might be unknown –even to us. But most of the time, it is untouched, unwounded.
Le Jardin Magique depicts my imaginative menagerie where no one but me sees, touches, hear & smells. A sacred place of expression. It this world where flowers, butterflies, fairies & wild women reside.
This show is about how the visible and the invisible intertwine in human experience. This show is about living through grief, freedom & joy. Do you dare see the divine? Do you dare see the magic?”
Le Jardin Magique runs until Dec 2.
Coming up next at the gallery is DART WARS, our art show tribute to Star Wars. With The Force Awakens coming out on December 18 we thought it would be perfect way to end the year. Opening Dec 4, 7-10 pm, you don’t want to miss this show! And there’s a special bonus this time – anyone who makes a purchase on opening night will be entered into a draw to win two tickets to the screening of The Force Awakens on Friday, Dec 18 at 7:35pm. This show will feature many local artists working in a wide variety of mediums. We’ll have everything from traditional paintings and prints to keychains, tree ornaments, pocketbooks and more! You’ll find the perfect gift for the Star Wars fan in your life just in time for the holidays.
Until next time,
Peace, love, & carrots,
Huxley
