Season’s Greetings, Dartmouthians!
I hope you’re doing well and getting excited for the holidays. Over here at The Dart Gallery things have been busy – and if you haven’t already heard, we have some big news!
After over a year of working together and hosting Picnic’s pop-up dinners at The Dart Gallery, we are excited to join forces and present a permanent joint venture where art lovers can enjoy incredible food and food lovers can enjoy fantastic local art in a relaxed and inspiring setting.
The new gallery/restaurant launches in February and will be open Tuesday through Sunday. Lunch, shared plates, weekend brunch and after-hours snacks, local wine and beer will be on offer. The duo will also host multi-course meals inspired by the gallery’s exhibits, with seating available by reservation. Read more about it here
That’s the good news – the bad news is that we have to close a little earlier this year than we anticipated. You may have noticed some construction happening on the exterior of our building. It will look fantastic when it’s done, but we’ve been advised that a structural issue needs to be resolved ASAP, and as such, we will have to close for part of December while this is fixed. Our last day open until the New Year will be Dec 15. As you can likely imagine, December is our best month of the year and to lose a significant chunk of time is a very tough blow, particularly as we are set to expand and bring downtown Dartmouth a new and exciting joint venture with Picnic.

If you were planning on doing any of your holiday shopping with us, from cards to art to prints to ceramics to holiday decorations and more, we’d LOVE to see you before Dec 16! We will also be set up at the Halifax Lights Holiday Market from Dec 17-20. Help us spread the word by sharing this post
AND, join us for TAX FREE shopping on Dec 12! We’re having a tax free sale on our last Saturday in the gallery of 2015.
Finally, we are thrilled to present a fantastic Star Wars inspired exhibit called Dart Wars. This is our last show of 2015 and there are so many cool pieces in this show! From paintings and prints to keychains and wallets to ceramics and more, this may be our most varied show yet. If you’re looking for a gift for the Star Wars lover on your list, you don’t want to miss this show! Dart Wars runs until Dec 15.
Sending best wishes to you all for Hoppy Holidays (and yes, we even have Hoppy Holidays cards in stock featuring me!) – ‘til next year, Dartmouth!
Peace, love, & carrots,
Huxley
