This Sunday, June 5 from noon to 4 p.m. join your friends and neighbours in downtown Dartmouth for Switch Open Street Sundays when two kilometers of Portland Street and Prince Albert Road will be open for a giant street party.
Free, family-friendly activities will include:
Live statues and aerial demonstrations by Atlantic Cirque
Ongoing street performances and music shows on Portland Street
The unveiling of a 50-foot-long Dartmouth Letters Sculpture by local artist Christian Toth at Sullivan’s Pond
A culture and drumming demo by the Mik’maq Friendship Centre on Portland Street near Dundas Street
A fire truck display at the Halifax Fire Department Station 13 on King Street
The annual D-Day Parade by Somme Branch Legion #31 at 1:45 p.m. (The procession begins near the corner of King and Portland St. then winds its way toward Peace Grove Park at the waterfront.)
